A Legacy of Tradition and Education in Karaveddy
Founding Year
Founded in 1901 by Nallathambi from the Vaalaithappa family, our school has been a pillar of Saivism and Tamil culture in Karaveddy. At a time when Methodist missionaries dominated the region, Nallathambi saw the need to preserve and promote traditional values.
1901Pudupalli Era
Originally known as "Pudupalli," the school was managed by Veeravagu Chitrampla Mudaliyar, the Maniyakaran of Vadamaraachi and Thenmaraachi. It was a significant Saiva institution during a time when religious conversions were happening for educational opportunities.
Early 1900sGovernment Takeover
In 1964, the school was taken over by the government and renamed "Manikkavasagar Vidyalayam," becoming a prominent primary school with classes from Grade 1 to 5.

The school excelled in the National Scholarship Examination, securing 1st and 3rd places at the national level in 1983. In 2007, it was ranked among the top schools in the country, with a 67% pass rate.
1983 & 2007Continued Academic Excellence
Our strong academic performance, especially in Tamil language competitions, is a testament to the dedication of both students and teachers. Numerous national-level awards have been achieved over the years.
